Mercedes M113K Supercharged V8

The M113K (Kompressor) is Mercedes’ iconic supercharged V8 used in early AMG models like the E55, SL55, and some C55 generations.
This page is your hub for all parts and upgrades compatible with the M113K platform.

The M113k is based on the M113 5.5 liter engine with a supercharger installed.  The engine is upgraded for a boost application.  These engines are known to be very reliable and powerful.  There are sometimes issues on cylinder 8.

Specs & History

  • Displacement: 5.4L V8 (M113, with M113K being the supercharged variant)
  • Forced Induction: Eaton TVS Roots-style supercharger + intercooler (Kompressor system)
  • Power Range: Stock tunes ranged ~469–493 HP in factory AMG trim
  • Years / Usage: Found in E55 AMG, SL55 AMG, some C55, CLK55 — primarily late 1990s to mid-2000s
  • Strengths & Limits: Excellent midrange torque, but prone to heat and intake pressure losses at high boost

Performance & Upgrade Paths

  • Supercharger pulley downsizing + custom tune
  • Upgraded intercooler systems / front intercoolers
  • Fueling support (injectors, fuel pump) for high boost
  • Exhaust / headers to improve flow
  • Supporting cooling and oil management upgrades

Why Upgrade the M113K?

  • Enhanced Torque: The supercharged V8 already delivers strong torque — upgrades make it stronger and more consistent.
  • Heat Management: Superchargers generate lots of heat — better cooling will let you push harder.
  • Modern Reliability: With careful tuning and supporting mods, you can push old platforms further without sacrificing longevity.
