Mercedes AMG Differentials & Driveline Upgrades

Upgrade the connection between your powerplant and the pavement.
Here you’ll find limited-slip differentials, replacement axles, mounts, and driveline components curated for Mercedes/AMG applications.

What You’ll See Here

  • Limited-Slip Differentials (LSDs): To improve traction under power and on corner exits.
  • Open Differential Replacements: High-quality rebuilds or OEM-style units.
  • Axles / Half-Shafts / Driveshafts: Strengthened components for high torque builds.
  • Mounts & Bushings: Upgraded supports to reduce deflection under load.

Important Notes & Warnings on Changing Differential / Axle Ratios

  • Speedo / ECU / TCU Recalibration: If you change the final drive ratio, your vehicle’s speedometer, ABS, traction control, and ECU logic might be off. Many owners report needing TCU/ECU updates when gearbox/diff ratios change.
  • Torque & Stress: A higher numerical (lower ratio) diff magnifies torque on the drivetrain, which can strain axles, joints, mounting, and differential internals under high output.
  • Fuel / Noise / Cruising RPM: Changing ratio can raise RPMs at highway speed or alter engine load. Some Mercedes community threads show performance trade-offs when going from 2.65 → 2.82 etc.
  • Lifespan & Wear: Swapping gear sets or using higher-stress combinations may require closer attention to lubrication, preload settings, and bearing health. Cheap or mismatched internals often lead to premature failure.

Not sure if your setup allows a particular gear swap? Drop a note with your chassis, engine, and current rear-end ratio—they’re good checks before you commit.
