We just took our test bed C63, now sitting at 113,000 miles, on a 2,000-mile road trip to Miami! Of course, we had to stop at every Buc-ee’s along the way.
This trip was about more than just testing our tunes and parts over a long road trip. We made stops in Fort Lauderdale and Vero Beach, spent time in Orlando visiting Disney and Universal, and traveled through Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina along the way. Between the theme parks, sightseeing, and all the stops along the highway, we got to enjoy a little bit of everything.
As for the C63, she drove beautifully the entire trip. The suspension strut mounts feel like they could use a refresh, but otherwise, the car handled the journey well, and we opened her up a few times when the opportunity presented itself. There’s something special about taking a properly tuned performance car on a long road trip and getting to enjoy it for what it was built to do.
The blind-spot warning also proved quite useful along the way, regardless of the BMW guys trying to make not signaling cool. We averaged a bit more than 20.5 MPG and 70 MPH.
With 113,000 miles on the clock, it’s nice to see the C63 still out there taking us on adventures. Looking forward to another road trip and rallies next year.
