With big 3D prints it is prudent to quickly level the print bed before execution. This is because small changes in level can throw off larger prints and cause poor layer adhesion at higher than expected layers; which can defeat watching the first few layers apply to ensure good adhesion throughout.
I’d also suggest printing as hot as possible to maximize layer adhesion as well.
