Fitment
TCU Tunes for the Mercedes-Benz 722.9 7G and 9G not for GLA/A45.
What it Does
TCU Tune does not add power but enables the power being made to translate into quicker times. This also addresses many of the issues people sometimes have with applying power, for example in a CLS 550 4matic without a TCU tune my tires would spin and cut power completely. After the TCU Tune it applies the power fully or with the slightest intervention.
I personally ran TCU tune on my CLS 550 4matic, which completely transformed my car, prior my car could not apply the power the engine was making. I also run a TCU tune on my 205 C63 which helps out a lot. I would say she felt tame before the ECU tune, then felt powerful after that, but she felt fast after the TCU tune. I’ve driven over 100k miles on tuned TCU between the two and she has been flawless when passing, racing, and road tripping.
Process
We will send you an open port 2.0 (included in the price) once it arrives schedule a time for a technician to remote desktop into an “unlocked” windows based laptop. The first session will include installation of software to perform a virtual read through the OBD.
The technician may hand it off to calibration engineer to perform the calibrations. Once calibrations are done, technician will reach out to you to schedule a time to hook the windows laptop up to the car with the open port 2.0 connecting the car to the laptop. There will need to be fast and stable internet connection like a library or starbucks etc at the car for the technician to log in and write the software calibration.
At this time it is advised that the driver try to “fill in the cells” by running through each gear at different throttle actuations. The TCU will need a bit of time to adjust its torque calculations. This means the tune should gain most effect after 500 miles and full effect after 3000 miles.
