Why Cold Air Intakes Fail to Deliver More Power

  1. The difference in oxygen density between 70 and 100 F is .07 kg/m3
  2. The difference in volume delivery between a 3″ and 4″ diameter tube is nearly double.
  3. Additionally, the length of tubing decreases volume of flow according to Cullen and Koss.
  4. Therefore a shorter tubing intake with greater diameter will deliver far more air volume which will likely outperform the density advantage delivered from a cold air intake with longer narrower tubing
