ModalWorks M276 Air Intakes

KEY FEATURES:

The M276 C43 Top Mount Performance Intake System yields an IAT reduction of 7-10°F compared to the stock airbox. 60mph-100mph times can be reduced by 0.4s on factory calibration without other modifications. Engineered from high-performance carbon fiber polymer material, paired with convenient wire harness extenders, this kit installs in minutes with hand tools.

Each Kit Includes:

2x high flow panel filters

2x lower airbox intake funnel(filter to turbo)

2x upper air guide

2x MAP sensor harness extenders

Vehicle Fitment:

Select the appropriate fitment option from the Intake Style selection bar. The “No Enclosure” option fits all M276 vehicles, as shown below. The fully enclosed kit currently fits the C-Class and E-Class models.  If you would like a fully enclosed intake and don’t see your vehicle listed please contact us to be a tester for your platform.

Design:

This intake system is constructed of carbon fiber polymer plastic. Side-by-side comparisons of stock vs ModalWorks intake show reduced IAT with more flow and more boost. That’s right, by removing excess restriction in the intake track, the turbos can breathe better, resulting in a better pressure ratio yielding more boost to your engine.

CFD:
The intake path design and shape went through numerous iterations to improve flow rate, reduce restrictions, and mitigate re-circulation within the intake system. Our results show that in this engine bay, it is possible to have a fully enclosed system that makes tons of power. The air intake path is completely enclosed to block all the hot radiant air that plagues so many other designs.

Testing:

All testing was performed on a completely stock 2017 c43

Multiple data logs comparing our design against stock. This design provides cooler air with a higher mass flow rate, resulting in more power. We went through multiple 60-130mph runs in 84°F weather and averaged results to determine the following:

-Reduced IAT 9°F lower than stock with the full enclosure option

-Increase Boost pressure by 2psi over stock across entire 60-100mph runs

-Improved mass airflow leading to substantial power increase

Increased boost pressure combined with lower IAT yields significant improvement in mass airflow, which is proportional to power. The MW intake nearly doubles the performance gains against other aftermarket brands.
