Superchargers

Superchargers use the power output from an engine or motor to drive the compressor to build oxygen for combustion.  The advantages over turbo charging include precise control of the boost and more instant boost available.

Supercharges have a signature whine to them. The modern european high performance supercharger application was pioneered by Jaguar Land Rover and then continued by Mercedes and now Mopar.
