There are some basic things one must get to start to print reliably well. This isn’t exactly intuitive either, but they are
- Leveling
- Layer Adhesion
- Build Plate Adhesion
- Environment
If any of these are off a failure or weak point in a print can occur. However if some of these are just slightly off you get a print that is slightly off and can result into any thing from an unmarketable product to a failure.
To reduce the occurrence of failure I recommend checking out the hot end regularly, this requires removing the bl touch and/or the enclosure for the fan and heat break. You’ll want to also ensure that you are using a sufficiently large tip to reduce clogging failures, if you use a .4 or below it is a good idea to heat up the hot end and use a de clogging device which is often supplied with delivery of a new printer.
While you can leave a printer level once and assume it will stay level it is important to heat up your bed and level everything when hot before an important print. This will make the layer lines have greater adhesion.
Build plate adhesion is accomplished by starting with a very clean build plate then prepping with some glue. Using overly dry glue can also cause failures so if you want to pre prep your air intake it is best to just clean it.
The environment is very important as well. The prints will need to be enclosed and likely heated. I would also highly recommend venting your enclosure.
